CHAPTER 19: CAR KISS TROPE
by IAm_GhostLast night came to me as a blur. I woke up feeling heavy. Not only because of the irresponsible drinking, but also because Chuck was sprawled on top of me, snoring loudly. I looked around my room. Carter was also here, hogging the blanket on the floor. Beside him was Carlos. On the foot of my bed was Jimmy. I sighed. They always crash at my place after parties and nights of heavy drinking.
What the hell was my room to them anyway? A friggin’ shelter?
I sighed as I got up slowly so as to not wake any of them who partied harder than I did last night. And tonight, we would be attending another party. I shivered at the thought of my gang being drunk. Again. Two days in a row. Now that’s definitely healthy.
I scoffed.
I showered quickly and silently. I also dressed and ate my breakfast as silently as I could before packing up my bag and put on my shoes. Then I took out my phone, downloaded a mix audio file of slash movie background sounds, zombie voices, ghost screeches and screams and an apocalyptic sound and set the volume to max before putting it down on the living room table and pressing the play button. I quickly covered my ears while the mix of sounds played from my phone. I laughed when the first sound comes, making the three boys jumped from their slumber, confused and shocked.
“What the fuck?!”
“Shit!”
“Lee! You bastard!”
That was it. I’m out.
I laughed so hard and grabbed my phone before running out of the door before they could catch and kill me. I slammed the door shut behind me and dashed to the elevator without looking to the front, making sure none of the four followed me outside and well, that got me to bump into Allen.
“Ooppss… Sorry,” I panted as I apologize to him, not daring to look at his face.
“You all right?” he asked, grabbing my arms and helping me steady myself. I finally looked up at him, despite everything.
So, he was still talking to me?
“Yeah. Sorry ’bout that,” I grinned at him.
He reached out his hand to brush away my bangs from my face (I know, haircut) and wiped the sweat from my flushed face. I shuddered at his touch.
“Why the rush?” he asked. Hand still on my forehead. I told him about what I did to the inconsiderate boys and that made Allen laugh heartily.
Oh God, how much I’ve missed hearing that laugh. I could feel my own lips curled into a smile when he laughed.
“Where ya headin’?” I asked as we step into the elevator.
“Student council office,” he told me, “I’m handing out the volunteer form for the summer camp.”
“You’re volunteering?” I asked, rather surprised.
“Well, not me, but some of my team members wanted to volunteer so I helped them with the forms,” he told me. “You’re not volunteering?” he asked.
“Well, I don’t know yet,” I admit. “It’s two weeks after the festival. I’d probably still be recharging,” I chuckle and he nods understandingly.
“What about you? Where are you heading?” he asks back.
“City mall,” I told him. “My younger sister’s birthday is coming up. I’m going to buy her something.”
“You have a younger sister?” he asked, not as surprised as he was more curious. I chuckled at his honesty and genuine curiosity.
“Yeah and a twin younger brother,” I told him. He nodded and pushed the button for the basement parking lot.
“I’ll take you,” he said so suddenly.
Huh?
“No. You don’t have to,” I declined immediately.
“I want to,” he said calmly. “We’ll just stop by campus shortly so I can drop off the forms, then we’ll head straight to the mall,” he told me, sternly, making sure I was unable to protest or argue.
I wanted to argue more but decide not to. He was speaking normally to me again and I didn’t want to ruin it so I obeyed though a little reluctantly. I kept feeling that slight pain since I bumped into him earlier all the way to campus’ parking lot where he told me to wait in the car while he ran to the student council’s office. I leaned back on the passenger seat, eyes closed, trying to calm my heart down. I was afraid I’m gonna have a heart attack if it beat any faster.
It took him a whole 15 minutes (I counted, I was nervous, bite me) before he was back and we started driving to the city. We sat in silence. An awkward silence, though not as awkward as yesterday’s silence. The silence lingered before he took my right hand with his left and held it. My heart beat even faster (now I think I was having a heart attack) when he didn’t let go and started brushing it gently with his fingers.
When we reached the parking lot, Allen cut off the engine and we just sat there. The parking lot was still pretty empty. There were only a few cars parked away from each other since it was still pretty early in the morning and the mall has just opened. I nervously stared out my window. His hand was still cupping mine. It seemed that none of us wanted to let go first.
To my relief, Allen let go first. But then I felt his hand on my cheek. He was tugging it gently so that I would turn to face him, which I did, hesitantly. Our eyes met and I gasped silently. The look in his eyes… so intense… so… clear… it burned. Those eyes… I felt a choke was coming and I swallowed hard.
“I’m sorry,” he said hoarsely before leaning in, placing another hand on my waist, and his lips suddenly crashed onto mine. I was terrified. But soon I found myself giving in to the longing I’ve been feeling since what felt like forever to me.
I surrendered to his burning kiss. It was intense. But not hurried as I felt his tongue licking my lower lip, asking for entrance. I opened my mouth slightly and soon, feeling his tongue attacking mine and exploring the insides of my mouth, I shuddered with excitement. I answered his kiss with as much passion, if not more, playing with his tongue, nibbling on his lip.
My body felt so hot. I leaned in more as his other hand pulled me in closer. I circled my arms around his neck and pushed myself even closer to him until our chests were touching. He groaned. I felt shameless as I let out a moan.
“Allen…” I panted between the kisses. He quickly reclaimed my lips and I moaned softly when he nibbled on my lower lip while his hands slipped under my shirt, caressing my back.
We have to stop!
“What are you…?” I started to ask before he pulled away and stare at me, eyes filled with so many emotions that I didn’t know what they were. I just knew that they were overwhelming me. Weakening me.
“Please…” he said, softly, almost too soft before kissing me again, rougher this time.
My own mind started getting clouded when his hand trailed from my back to my chest, caressing it gently under my shirt. I shuddered with every touch, writhing under his fingers.
Yup, now’s the time to stop.
I could hear myself moaning and gasping.
Shit.
We can’t do this.
This was so wrong on so many levels!
We were in the middle of a parking lot, for fuck’s sake! Not that I didn’t want to… no, wait! I didn’t! No! I mean… Shit! It felt so good. It was messier than a mess.
“Allen!” I said loudly as I pushed him away as hard as I could. I was panting hard and my whole body was tingling with a weird sensation. I was definitely hard. So was he.
Allen turned around and sighed before resting his forehead on the steering wheel. His shoulders slumped to his sides.
“You go ahead first,” he said after a while.
“Allen…” my weak voice trembled.
“Just… go…” his own hoarse voice came out. “I’ll catch up with you later,” he said then took a deep breath before saying, “I need to calm myself down,” he told me.
“Ok,” I said (I really did understand) and took my backpack, reaching for the door handle and about to open it but then he grabbed my hand again.
“I’m sorry,” he said weakly. His voice was desperate. I said nothing as I got off from his car and closed the door behind me.
I felt like crying.
