Chapter 16
by starlightnovelsclubSong Jinyi stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows of the top floor office, looking at the traffic and crowds that were small as ants. He laughed lightly.
Song Zhaoguang and Jiang Shiyan stood silently behind him.
What Song Zhaoguang was worried most about still happened. The opening of Rising Sun Mall was disrupted. He didn’t even need to think about it—it was definitely Song Ling. Only this person had such ability.
Fortunately, Song Jinyi controlled the scene quickly and there weren’t much losses.
He looked nervously at Song Jinyi’s back, “Jinyi, Dad’s already warned Song Ling, but he won’t listen.”
Song Jinyi turned around, still in a gentle manner, “Dad, do you have evidence that Song Ling did it?”
Song Zhaoguang was flushed red, “Who else could it be?”
Song Jinyi continued to smile, “Dad, you must have evidence before speaking. Don’t talk indiscriminately.”
Song Zhaoguang knew that Song Jinyi was angry, but the company’s IT team couldn’t find any traces of a hacking attack. There was nothing they could do.
Song Zhaoguang: “Jinyi, why don’t we move the operation to an earlier date and transplant Song Ling’s kidney to you? Afterwards, we can kick him out to live or die on his own. There are so many people with panda blood, Dad will find another one for you.”
How could Song Jinyi not understand Song Zhaoguang? Song Ling was the stain on Song Zhaoguang’s life, and he wished Song Ling could just disappear immediately.
But compared to his own health, he would rather see Song Zhaoguang and his bastard son tear into each other.
Song Jinyi’s face was a bit pale but he smiled gently, “Dad, Song Ling is still so young. I can’t bear to.”
Jiang Shiyan, who was on the side, finally said: “I’m sorry, Brother Jinyi. I couldn’t persuade Song Ling either.”
Song Jinyi looked at Jiang Shiyan, “You haven’t had much contact with Song Ling recently.”
Jiang Shiyan smiled wryly, “Song Ling made a new friend these days. It’s a delivery guy.”
Song Jinyi: “Delivery guy?”
“That’s right. The two are quite close. I also don’t know how Song Ling got to know someone like that.”
Song Jinyi smiled slightly. Seems like Jiang Shiyan could no longer be his tool to control Song Ling.
He patted Jiang Shiyan on the shoulder, “Go abroad to study. I’ll take care of Uncle Jiang.”
Jiang Shiyan was relieved. After all, the Jiang family relied on Song Jinyi for a lot of its businesses, “Thank you, Brother Jinyi.”
Song Jinyi looked at Song Zhaoguang, “Delivery guy? Dad, didn’t Song Ling ask a delivery guy to send snail noodles over last time?”
Song Zhaoguang’s face changed from red to black.
He knew that Song Jinyi was shaming him.
Song Jinyi smiled and said to Jiang Shiyan, “Delivery guys can also make a fortune. Don’t underestimate them.”
Song Zhaoguang: “…”
Just when the atmosphere grew still to the point of embarrassment, the office door was pushed open.
Everyone turned their heads back. Song Ling stood outside with a calm expression, ruthless eyes, yet a cruel smile without warmth hung on his lips.
He held a white card in his hand, looking at the three in front of him like they were clowns.
Although he was alone, his unruly expression was as if he had thousands of troops behind him. That card was like a sharp knife, showing off its cutting edge.
Song Jinyi’s heart couldn’t help but sink.
This office had a complex password lock that needed the face, fingerprint, and manually entering a password—triple authentication. Only he could open it, and if someone unauthorized were to try to break in, an alert would be sent directly to his phone.
Song Ling broke in as if the security system didn’t exist at all. Even his phone remained silent.
Song Jinyi swallowed, subconsciously clenching his fists.
He didn’t expect Song Ling’s growth rate to be faster than his speed of whitewashing the Song family.
Song Ling shook the white card in his hand, a few words written flamboyantly in marker on it: One Card Pass.
There was a small line on the back: ‘Can open any electronically-powered door in Rising Sun Mall.’
Song Ling smiled, “One Card Pass means that it can open any door in this building.”
Song Zhaoguang snorted coldly, “What’s the use of that plaything? Once we upgrade the system, you won’t be able to use it anymore. Who are you trying to fool?”
Song Ling laughed mockingly: “I think you used to be too busy delivering goods and didn’t have enough time to read books. The card can also be upgraded.”
Song Zhaoguang was startled and hurriedly rushed over to grab it. After taking it, he raised his hand to give Song Ling a slap. He gnashed his teeth, “You’re crazy.”
Song Zhaoguang successfully got the card but didn’t hit the person. Song Ling firmly gripped his hand, and before he realized what was happening, Song Ling had already dragged him in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, opened it, and pushed him out.
His movements were quick and ruthless, no useless movements at all.
For a moment, half of Song Zhaoguang’s body hung outside. The 35th floor was too high, and the wind whistling by was piercing to his ears. It seemed to extend from the depths of hell.
His hands flailed helplessly, trying to find something to grab onto, but he still firmly held onto the card.
Song Ling smiled mockingly and stretched his hand out to him. He let go if it immediately, and the card slipped down.
Once the card fell, Song Ling withdrew his hand and Song Zhaoguang failed to grab onto anything.
Song Ling: “Tsk, Brother, look at that. He threw away the card for his life. This Rising Sun Mall’s the result of your painstaking effort. Who knows which lucky passerby would pick it up?”
Song Jinyi couldn’t care about so much. He made a call with a sullen face, “From the north side of my office window, a small white card with the words ‘One Card Pass’ handwritten in marker on it. You must find it by any means.”
Song Zhaoguang kept cursing, “You white-eyed wolf! I’ve raised you for nothing! How come your mother didn’t take you with her back then… AHHHHHHHHHHH don’t let go!!!”
Before Song Zhaoguang could say ‘die’, Song Ling exerted his strength and pushed him down a little.
Song Zhaoguang: “Jinyi, Jinyi, save me!!”
Song Jinyi didn’t have time for him, hurriedly walking out of the office.
Song Ling said to Song Zhaoguang, “He went to look for the card.”
Song Zhaoguang: “…”
“What’s the point of him searching so hard for? This card’s too easy to copy.”
After Song Ling said so, he pulled out another identical card from his pocket.
Jiang Shiyan was stunned and only just now came back to his senses. He falteringly persuaded, “Ah Ling, don’t be like this, quickly pull Uncle up.”
Song Ling turned around, glaring coldly at Jiang Shiyan before laughing mockingly.
Song Zhaoguang: “Song Ling, what are you going to do? Just what do you want?”
Song Ling laughed, “Someone told me that if you get beaten, you should hit back. I think it makes a lot of sense.”
Jiang Shiyan never thought that the person that once listened to him unconditionally would one day look at him with these chilling eyes. However, when he said this, his body relaxed and turned gentle like he was in the past.
Song Ling pulled Song Zhaoguang back with a strong pull and patted his face with the card, “Why don’t you try it out? See if every door can be opened.”

When Zhou Qingluo got home, Zhou Shoulin was bustling about in the kitchen. Seeing him come back, he happily said, “There’s sliced watermelon in the fridge. Eat one to relieve the heat but don’t eat too much, the meal will be ready soon.”
Zhou Qingluo looked at Zhou Shoulin’s busy figure and then smelled the food in the air. He couldn’t help but think of the things Song Ling’s father said to him on the roof.
Those cold-blooded words actually came from a father’s mouth.
Zhou Qingluo sighed lightly. Being parents wasn’t part of compulsory curriculum, so not everyone was suited to it.
Zhou Shoulin brought out the meals. Although it was just a simple two dishes and one soup, the meat and vegetables were balanced. Just looking at it was appetizing.
Song Ling was a VIP customer, so he got an extra steamed turbot.
Zhou Shuolin: “Eat quickly and then go deliver food to Xiao Song and the others.”
Zhou Qingluo was in a bad mood and didn’t really want to bring food over to Song Ling right now. However, taking someone’s money and then not fulfilling the order was terrible, especially when Song Ling was the one that got Zhou Shoulin to take the first step out of his shell.
That was why he couldn’t tell Song Ling to not buy food from them anymore.
Zhou Qingluo swiped his phone while eating and received a few messages from Song Ling.
[.]: .
[.]: ?
[.]: Here?
[.]: Zhou Qingluo?
Each message was ten minutes apart.
Zhou Qingluo scoffed. Second Young Master Song cherished his words like gold, and his text messages were short and precious like pearls. True to the qualities of a big villain.
He didn’t intend to reply and wanted to turn off his phone when Song Ling’s message arrived again.
[. gave you 2000 yuan]
Seeing the money transfer, Zhou Qingluo almost couldn’t control his hand. He was a bit baffled. What was Song Ling sending money to him for?
[Please pay to chat]: ?
[.]: So you were looking at your phone.
Zhou Qingluo was a bit speechless, wondering if this person had some serious illness. Why did his tone feel like he successfully reeled in the fish?
But when he saw his own nickname, he immediately felt that it wasn’t completely unreasonable.
[Please pay to chat]: You need something?
[.]: How come you’re not replying?
[Please pay to chat]: Am I not responding now?
[.]: Why didn’t you respond before I sent you money?
Zhou Qingluo looked at the revolving chat and went speechless once again.
[Please pay to chat]: If you need something, then just say it.
The dialog box didn’t immediately show ‘the other party is typing…’ and went dead silent.
Zhou Qingluo glanced at the strange chat record once more and felt a sense of being a scumbag dealing with an unreasonable little girlfriend making trouble. Coincidentally, he was the scumbag.
He was just thinking about this unhealthy conversation when Song Ling messaged him.
[.]: Zhou Qingluo, why are you angry?
When Zhou Qingluo saw this message, he was stunned.
Song Ling could actually see that he was angry? He was obviously good at hiding his anger and sadness.
[Please pay to chat]: I’m not angry.
As soon as this was sent, Song Ling’s reply dinged in.
[.]: You lie. You’re angry.
[.]: You said that if you can’t outtalk them, then you should hit them. I hit back right away.
[.]: I also won’t use such scary photos in the future anymore. I’ll be more civilized.
[.]: So can you not be angry anymore, hm?
[.]: [heart][heart][heart]
[. retrieved a message.]
Zhou Qingluo looked at the three fleeting red hearts and smiled.
Was Song Ling coaxing him?
